In the form of a silver plated brass commemorative cigarette box, the interior partitioned and cedar lined, the lid engraved with a map of the European, Mediterranean and North African theatres of war, the sides further engraved with events dates and from ‘Germany invades of Poland’ September 1 1939’ to ‘Germany surrenders unconditionally May 7 1945’. Maker’s name to the underside of Granger, of Egypt and marked 'Brass used in the Manufacture of this Box was salvaged from the Battlefields of World War II'. A similar example is in the Imperial War Museum collection (IWM EPH 2488)
