18 carat gold convex oval panels, each enamelled with the Crown, crossed lances of the 16th Light Cavalry and blue enamelled title scroll. Maker’s mark of the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street, London.
16th Light Cavalry was renumbered from the 27th Light Cavalry in 1922, yet in terms of seniority continued to have precedence over all Indian cavalry regiments other than the Viceroy’s Bodyguard.
