Polychrome on board. An armorial coach panel dsplaying the armorial acheivement of ‘Sunny’, 9th Duke of Marlborough. Framed.

Charles Richard John Spencer-Churchill, 9th Duke of Marlborough, K.G. (1871-1934), styled Earl of Sunderland until 1883 and Marquess of Blandford between 1883 and 1892, was a close friend of his first cousin Winston Churchill. Known as ‘Sunny’ he famously married the American railroad heiress Consuelo Vanderbilt in 1895 to save Blenheim.
