French silver. In the form of a tazza or shallow bowl with moulded rim, on three dolphin supports on a circular base modelled as wavy sea set upon a on a moulded foot inscribed ‘Regates Internationales Cannes 1935’. The base. Stamped with the Minerva guarantee mark.

Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) put Cannes on the yachting chart in 1894 as the scene of another victory for the Royal Yacht Cutter Britannia over competitors Valkyrie I and Oretta.
