A George III Scale Model of a Common Pattern Anchor, 1800

Measurements: Length: 14.5cm (5.75in)



Bronze and oak. Model anchor of unknown scale with a wooden stock, patinated bronze rectangular section shank and upturned curved arms terminating in triangular palms with pointed bills; the top of the shank drilled and fitted with a pivoting bow shackle, the wooden stock formed of two parts, with a horizontal top edge and an angled bottom edge, held together by six patinated bronze hoops.
