Silver. In the form of a spherical flaming grenade with with wick rising from the flambeau finial from a fuel reservoir within. Engraved with the insignia of the Devonshire Royal Engineers and inscribed ‘Presented to The Officers Devon (Fortress) Royal Engineers by Captain J.H.C. Thompson, Adjutant, 1928-1932’. Maker’s mark of A & J Zimmerman Ltd and hallmarks for Birmingham 1937.
