A Large Victorian Highlander’s Powder Horn

Circa 1860

Measurements: Length: 30cm (12in)



Horn mounted with unmarked silver mounts, the cap end engraved with the crest of Clan Murray (On a wreath or and sable a demi-wildman ppr wreathed about the temples and waist with laurel, his arms extended and holding in the right hand a dagger, in the left a key all ppr).

Clan Murray crest is also the regimental badge of the Atholl Highlanders, Europe’s only legal private army.
