9 carat gold and enamel red double sided cufflinks, with rectangular panels bearing the entwined P and E cypher of His Royal Highness Duke of Edinburgh, the title he bore between 20 November 1947- 22 February 1957. Each panel marked ‘HHP’ to the reverse for Royal warrant holder Henry Hodson Plante of Bury Street, St James’s, London, and hallmarked Birmingham 1951. Contained in the original case of Plante, holder of the King’s warrant, and gilt stamped to the lid with the Duke’s Edinburgh Castle badge encircled by the Garter and surmounted by his coronet.
