Silver, gold and enamel. Russian style combination vesta and cigarette case, with reeded surface decoration, the flush hinged lid to main compartment applied with the VRI (Victoria Regina Imperatrix - Victoria Queen Empress) cypher in blue guilloche enamel surmounted by the Imperial state crown in gold and enamels. Fitted with an integral steel match striker at the upper end, and tinder cord retainer chain and hook to the side; the cigarette compartment with gilt interior. Maker’s mark of James Samuel Bell & Louis Willmott. Cased. Hallmarked London 1895.
