The double portrait of George V (1865-1936)  wearing ermine Coronation robes and the Imperial State Crown; Queen Mary (1867-1953) seated to the right wearing an ermine trimmed train, photographed against a painted backdrop. Signed in the mount in the King Emperor’s hand in ink ‘George R.I.’ (Rex Imperator) and dated for the Westminster Abbey Coronation day ‘22nd June 1911’. Further signed ‘Mary’ in the Queen’s hand lower right. Cf. The Royal Collection (RCIN 2926152). Contained in a period giltwood glazed frame surmounted by the Royal coat of arms.
