Silver and silver gilt. Of rectangular form with reeded side panels, engine turned base, the lid engraved with the Queen’s Crown and EIIR cypher of H.M. Elizabeth II. The interior of the lid inscribed ‘Mr & Mrs Stanley Williams / 6th June 1956 / from / Elizabeth R’ Maker’s mark of the Royal warrant holder Henry Hodson Plante, of Bury Street, St. James’s, London. Hallmarked 1955. Contained in its original gilt tooled morocco presentation case.

Stanley Williams was Superintendent of Buckingham Palace and Superintendent of Windsor Castle.
