Inniskilling Dragoons - An Officer’s 1834 Pattern Helmet



Gilt brass. Officer’s 1834 Pattern helmet of the Inniskilling Dragoons 1834-1843; plain front peak, acanthus scrolls to back peak, headband bearing regimental title ‘INNISKILLING DRAGOONS’, the gilt skull topped by a high gilt comb ornamented with decorative sprays of acorns and oakleaf, with removable lion finial (for full dress black bearskin comb); the rayed helmet plate bearing Royal Arms over the battle honour; large ear rosettes to either side with leather backed gilt chin scales terminating in a buckle clasp the interior with leather lining.
