Gilt bronze on hardwood. Oval plaque inscribed with the motto of The Royal Company of Archers ‘Nemo me impune lacessit’ (No one attacks me with impunity) granted by a Royal Charter of Queen Anne in 1713, and applied with the saltire of St. Andrew.
Archers’ Hall is the historic headquarters of the Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland and is located at Buccleuch Street in the Southside of Edinburgh. Building commenced on 15 August 1776, and was completed in 1777 to designs by Alexander Laing. The building was extended in 1900.
