Presentation Silver Figure of a Victorian Line Infantry Officer, 1881-1902

Finely chased and modelled figure in 1878 pattern Home Service helmet and full dress uniform of 1881-1902. The present figure appears on close inspection of the collar and helmet plate badges to be an officer of The Northamptonshire Regiment. The shoulder rank badges of two stars indicate captain at this period, however the single inverted flared and broad ‘v’ decoration on the cuff indicates lieutenant. On ebonised stepped base mounted with the date ‘1895’ in applied silver.
