Silver. Table bell with fouled anchor handle topped with an openwork imperial state crown, the bell engraved with the club’s official crest and inscribed ‘Presented to / C.M. Eastley, Esq., / Officer of the Day 1939-52 / By / The Members / Royal Bombay Yacht Club’. Unmarked.

Charles M. Eastley (b.1890) was born at Paignton, Devon, served in the First World was as a Lieutenant in the 4th Wessex Brigade, R.F.A., and subsequently practised as a solicitor in Bombay. Aside from his duties as O.O.D at the R.B.Y.C., he was President of the Bombay Flying Club.
