Seaforth Highlanders - Silver Glengarry Badges

Circa 1935

Measurements: Overall: 16.5cm (6.5in) x 22cm (8.5in)



Post 1908 cabossed stag’s head silver badge of the Seaforth Highlanders, together with a rank and 5th Battalion specific glengarry badge comprising the Clan Sutherland Wild Cat crest encircled by the motto Sans Peur (Without Fear), the whole superimposed on two eagle feathers denoting the rank of Captain. Framed and glazed.

5th Seaforths formed part of 152 Brigade of the reconstituted 51st Highland Division, that served with distinction from El Alamein to the German surrender in Sicily. Subsequently 152 Brigade joined the D-day campaign from 7 June 1944 and served continuously until the capture of Bremen and VE-Day.
