Silver and glass. A pair of regimental presentation ice buckets, the crackle glass body formed to simulate ice, the swing handles with post 1956 inscription ‘Presented to the 13th Battalion The Punjab Regiment by the Officers of the Sherwood Foresters’. Contained in fitted oak case with circular glass drainers. Maker’s mark of or Robert Pringle & Sons. Hallmarked London 1896.

In 1897 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters and 30th (Punjab) Regiment of Bengal Infantry were brigaded in the First Brigade, First Division of the Main Column of the Tirah Expedition which carried out operations against Orakzai and Afridi tribesmen on the old North West Frontier in an area ow federally administered by Pakistan. In 1956 the 30th Punjabis were retitled to become Pakistan’s 13th Battalion The Punjab Regiment.
