Rectangular form, the hinged lid engraved with the Roman numeral V denoting the Northumberland Fusiliers number in the Line, over the regimental motto ‘Quo Fata Vocant' (Whither the Fates Call). Gilt interior. Maker’s mark of the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street, London. Hallmarked London, 1901
