5th Royal Irish Lancers Painted Trophy of Arms, 1918

Oil on canvas laid down on board. Depiction of the regimental device centered on the numeral 5 surrounded by the motto ‘Quis Separabit’ and centered on crossed lances over battle honour scrolls. Signed and dated ‘W.H. Seddon 1918’. Contained in period frame.

GS4868 Pte. William H. Seddon, 5th Lancers (Royal Irish) served in France and Flanders from 22 September 1915. The same W.H. Seddon was at the Cavalry Depot, Canterbury in 1920. The 5th Lancers were amalgamated with the 16th Lancers in 1922.
