In the form of a silver plated brass commemorative cigarette box by Granger of Egypt, the interior partitioned and cedar lined the lid engraved with a map of the European, Mediterranean and North African theatres of war, the sides further engraved with events dates and events from ‘Germany invades Poland’ September 1 1939 to ‘Germany surrenders unconditionally’ May 7 1945. Signed to the underside Granger, of Egypt and marked 'Brass used in the Manufacture of this Box was salvaged from the Battlefields of World War II’. A similar example is in the Imperial War Museum collection (IWM EPH 2488).
