Patinated bronze. Cast bust of George III (reigned 1760-1820), son of Frederick, son of George II, married Charlotte-Sophia of Mecklenburg- Strelitz; father George IV, William IV and Edward, Duke of Kent. Portrayed bewigged and wearing the uniform of the Royal Horse Guards (‘The Blues’), which he wore almost daily, with the Garter star at his chest. Raised on a square stepped base with an acanthus scroll mount.
