VR cypher in white gold set with diamonds encircled by the Garter in yellow gold set with blue enamel, the motto ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense’ (May he be shamed who thinks ill of it) set with diamonds, the whole surmounted by the Queen’s crown in white and yellow gold set with diamonds and with red enamel in the cushion. The device is modelled on the design formerly used for officers pugaree badge and the sabretache badge for mounted field officers.
