Polychromed wood painted with the crown of the Heir Apparent over the Prince of Wales’s feathers, the date 1911, and scroll inscribed ‘Investiture’ as carried by Ushers at Carnarvon Castle on 13 July 1911.

The investiture of the Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) took place at Carnavon Castle in 1911 before 10,840 seated guests ‘of all classes’.
