(1719–1773) contained within a rococo cartouche surmounted by an earl’s coronet and flanked by ducally gorged swan supporters, and motto scroll inscribed alluding to Ovid’s observation on ancestry, but here misspelt. Plaque: 7.5cm (3in) x 5cm (2in). Contained in period ebonised frame.
