Hallmarked silver crossed lances of the 16th Light Cavalry, King’s crown and title scroll. Cap badge hallmarked London 1942. Collar dogs hallmarked 1918, 1923, & 1924 (x2). All bearing the maker’s mark of the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street, London.
16th Light Cavalry was renumbered from the 27th Light Cavalry in 1922, yet in terms of seniority continued to have precedence over all over Indian cavalry regiments other than the Viceroy’s Bodyguard.
