Bass drum with wood cylinder, wood hoops, leather tabs and rope tensioning. Professionally overhauled and re-emblazoned in the manner of George Potter of Aldershot. The cylinder showing signs of an original William IV painted cypher, and re-emblazoned with the Royal Arms borne between 1815 and 1837, over the regimental badge of the white horse of Hanover and the Roman numeral VIII, crowned and encircled by the Garter, over the Sphinx Battle Honour.
