Measurements: 45mm x 24mm
Of galleried construction, the yellow gold Garter rendered in unusual wavy form and set with blue and white enamel to spell out the Most Noble order’s motto ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense’ (Shame on him who thinks ill of it), the buckle and tip both diamond set, encircling the GVR cypher of George V (reigned 1910-1937) surmounted by a platinum crown set with red enamel cushion, diamonds, emerald and rubies in the frame, and white and black enamel. Contained in a case of the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co., Ltd., of 112 Regent Street, London.
