Paper knife in the form of a 17th century Scottish basket hilted broadsword, with tapering blade with fullers on each side stamped between crosses with the inscription 'Andrea Farara’, (a  'Irish' guard of slender bars involving incised saltires, fluted mushroom-shaped pommel, and later leather-covered wire-bound grip. Maker’s mark of J.W. Kirwan & Co, Birmingham. Hallmarked 1901. Cased.
