A Boer War tribute vesta of rectangular form with hinged lid and sprung clasp, striker inset to the base, engraved to front with the crowned ‘L.Y.C. cypher of the Leicestershire Yeomanry Cavalry over the title scroll 'PRINCE ALBERTS OWN’; the reverse with presentation inscription, 'Presented to / / to commemorate / his Patriotic Services in SOUTH AFRICA / AD 1900-1901’. Maker’s mark of Deakin & Francis Ltd. Hallmarked Birmingham 1901.
