1871 Pattern Helmet of the period 1888-1901, the silvered skull with gilt crowned plate composed of thistle sprays, flanking a silvered Garter inscribed with the motto ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense’ (May he be shamed who thinks badly of it) encircling a radiating star and cross of St. Andrew, centrered of the Queen’s VR cypher, within the motto ‘Nemo Me Impune Lacessit' (no one attacks me with impunity) over four-part title scrolls; complete with gilt quadrant, plume holder and white horse hair plume, gilt ear rosettes of regimental pattern, velvet lined chin chain, inner leather sweat band and silk lining.
