1871 pattern late Victorian officer’s helmet of silvered white metal, with edges bound in gilt metal brass, the skull applied with a gilt twelve-point hobnail star applied with the arms of Hungerford in gilt on a silver ground encircled by title ‘Royal Berks Yeomanry Cavalry’, gilt Albert pattern acanthus quadrant and plume holder with white horse hair plume, gilt ear rosettes of regimental pattern, velvet lined chin chain, inner quilted sweat band and silk lining.
