Silver. A George III salver or waiter with piecrust border, raised on four hoof feet. Centrally engraved with the Queen Victoria ‘VR’ cypher beneath the Guelphic crown as borne on the fore quarters the officers’ shabraques of the 18th Hussars until 1889, encircled by a wreath and overlaid with the battle honour scrolls ‘Waterloo' and ‘Peninsula’. Maker’s mark of Dorothy Mills. Hallmarked London 1753.
