Silver, silver gilt and enamels. Officer’s SBP applied with a multi-pointed hobnail gilt crowned circlet of green enamelled laurel leaves encircling a red enamelled rose of the House of Lancaster.. Reverse with two hooks and two fastening studs. Maker’s mark of Jennens & Co. Hallmarked Birmingham 1852.
The Liverpool Linnets were reformed for defence under the national the Militia Act 1852, during a period of international tension.).
