1871 Pattern Officer’s helmet of gilt brass, the skull applied with a twelve pointed hobnail star centered on the Garter motto, ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Pense’, in gilt metal over blue enamel surrounding the Prince of Wales's feathers on a red guilloche enamel ground, the whole complete with silk lining, gilt side rosettes, brass chin scale and black over red horse hair plume.
