Colour half length portrait photograph of the Prince of Wales. Signed and dated in the lower mount ‘Charles 1983’. Contained in original green Morocco leather frame with arched top impressed in gilt with the Prince of Wales's feathers by Jarrolds of Knightsbridge, London. The easel back containing a letter from the Buckingham Palace desk of the Hon Edward Adeane, Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales from 1979 to 1985, regarding presentation of the photograph.

Jean Casselman Wadds OC (1920-2011) served as Canada’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1983. She played a leading role in Pierre Trudeau’s negotiations with HM Government to successfully to patriate the Canadian Constitution in 1982. Trudeau was said of her: ‘I always said it was thanks to three women that we were eventually able to reform our Constitution. The Queen, who was favourable, Margaret Thatcher, who undertook to do everything that our Parliament asked of her, and Jean Wadds, who represented the interests of Canada so well in London.’
