A quarter length silhouette portrait in profile looking left in uniform comprising bicorne hat with white over red plume and bullion tassles fore and aft, red coat with blue facings to denote the ‘Royal’ prefix granted in 1802, gilt buttons and rectagular shoulder belt plate, and crimson sash at the waist and a gilt. Inscribed ‘J Nock, Plymouth 1803’. Contained in period glazed papier mâché frame with gilt hanging loop.
