Silver, silver gilt and enamel. In the form of a miniature 1871 pattern officer’s helmet, with silver skull applied with a silver gilt helmet plate containing eight pointed enamelled Garter star and motto ‘HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE’, the whole surmounted by the Queen Victoria Crown and flanked by a wreath of laurel and oak leaves, all in gilt. The aft peak decorated with gilt oak leaf band. The gilt spike plume holder rising from a rayed mount holding the lighter wick, fed from a reservoir of fuel within. Complete with the multi-petalled pattern gilt ear rosettes as specific to the Life Guards, and brass chin-chain. Makers mark of George White & Co. Hallmarked London 1903. Raised on an oval ebonised wooden base.
