Silver. In the form of a spherical flaming grenade with wick rising from the flambeau finial from a fuel reservoir within. Engraved with the bugle horn badge and strings of the 1st Volunteer Battalion Prince Albert’s Somerset Light Infantry’. Inscribed ‘Presented by Captain CF Milsom ASC / To the Officers 4th Batt. Som. LI 1914’. The other side engraved ‘Presented / to the officers of the / 1st VB PA Som LI / 2nd Lieutenant. CF Milsom / On appointment to the / Army Service Corps.’ Maker’s mark of William Aitkin. Hallmarked 1903.
