Floor Games was the first of H. G. Wells’ forays into codifying his rules for playing with toy soldiers and other miniature figures. A pacifist at heart, this first book was inspired by his days playing with his sons George and Frank and focuses on games for younger children, detailing the art of designing desert islands, towns and cities with a variety of wooden blocks, planks and miniature railways.
