Of rectangular form with the hinged lid apllied with the wreated regimental badge of the Lancashire rose ovrer XX roman numeral for the 20th regiment encircled by the motto ‘Omnia Audax’ (Daring in all things). Gilt and cedar lined interior. The lid engraved ‘All is not gold that glitters’. Maker’s mark Lambert & Co, Coventry Street, London. Hallmarked 1899.
