Bronzed lead uniface cliché medal designed by Bertrand Andrieu (1761-1822). Bare head of Napoléon right, encircled by the legend, ‘Bonparte Premier Consul de la Republique Fran’, set on tableau depicting a battle scene flanked by trophies of arms, the whole over the title ‘Battaille de Marengo / Le XXV Prarail / An XIII’. Contained under original glass and red morrocco case with collector’s note pinned to the silk lining. Case 75mm diameter.
