Desk clip applied with an officer’s silver collar badge featuring the boar’s head crest of the Argyll family and the wild cat crest of the Sutherland family surmounted by the coronet of Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll (1848-1939), and engraved in the facsimile hand of the donor, ‘A token of regard / 1898-1903 / “Mac" from "The Admiral”’. Retailer’s name of Thornhill & Co., 144 New Bond Street, London to the back of the rectangular base. Hallmarked London 1902.
