1871 Pattern Officer’s helmet of German silver, the skull applied with a white metal eight pointed hobnail Garter star, overlaid on a gilt mount in form of sprays of oak and laurel leaves, centered on the Garter motto, ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense’, in gilt over a blue enamel ground, surrounding a cross of red enamel, with gilt side rosettes, and brass chin scales. Contained in original tin by Rogers & Co., New Burlington Street, Saville Row, London.
