In the form of a Commander’s badge in 18 carat gold, the cross patonce set with three baguette sapphires and three marquise sapphires, the centre bearing the figure of Britannia in relief as borne on the obverse of the insignia from 1917 to 1937 and encircled with rubies, suspended from a ladies bow set with a single brilliant cut diamond. Marked ‘750’ for 750 parts per 1000 by weight (the equivalent of the old 18 carat gold standard). Hallmarked Edinburgh 1984. Contained in its original case.
