Overall: 16.5cm (6.5in) x 15cm (6in)
Woodcut engraving. GVR cypher of George V (reigned 1910-36) printed by Heinrich Sigismund Ulrich (1846-1937) after etcher and designer George W. Eve (1855-1914).
In addition to the traditional set of Royal Library Windsor bookplates in three sizes, George V used three simple cypher bookplates of which the present example is the simplest. The design was subsequently adapted by King George VI to use as his personal bookplate. Framed and glazed.
