Hans Muller (1873-1937) was born in Vienna, Austria and trained under sculptor Edward Hellmmer at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien. He established a successful sculpture studio specialising in the portraiture of historical figures and the great and the good of Viennese society, but also created figurative sculptures as well as animals, particularly of hunting dogs. Many of his sculptural pieces are on permanent display in the Simu Museum in Bucharest, Hungary.
