Royal presentation cigarette case given by the Prince and Princess of Wales (later King George V and Queen Mary) to an officer of the battlecruiser Renown in recognition of service during the royal tour of India and Burma, 1905-06. The hinged lid centrally engraved with the Prince of Wales’s feathers, crowned and encircled by the Garter, flanked by G and M cyphers of the Prince and Princess, and engaved ‘HMS Renown / India 1905.6’ lower right. Gilt interior. Maker’s mark of JBLW for James Samuel Bell & Louis Willmott, Oxford Street, London. Retailer’s name of royal warrant Collingwood, 46 Conduit Street, W. Hallmarked London 1905. Cased.
