Cigarette case enamelled in the dark blue and crimson of the Royal Engineers stripe overlaid with the medal ribbon bar comprising Military Cross, India General Service 1854-95, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, and Victory Medal). Hinged vesta compartment to the upper end. Maker’s mark of RS. Marks for Vienna 1st grade 935 silver. Cased.
A fine example of the enameller’s art, presumed commissioned for or by a British officer in Austria after the First World War.
