1871 Pattern Officer’s helmet of gilt brass, the skull applied with a twelve pointed hobnail star centered on the Garter motto, ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Pense’, in gilt metal over blue enamel surrounding the Prince of Wales' feathers on a red enamel ground, the whole complete with gilt side rosettes, brass chin scales and black over red horse hair plume.
