Regimental presentation frame of rectangular form with engine turned decoration and plain borders, the top applied with the QOL regimental cypher and crossed lances, over title scroll, the left-hand side applied with crossed lances. The back lined with watered silk and the frame fitted with silver hinged easel type stand, bearing the presentation inscription ‘The Officers 9th Lancers From Major W. H. Buttanshaw 16th Lancers 1895’. Retailer’s name of Ortner & Houle, St. James’s Street, London. Maker’s mark of Cornelius Joshua Vander. Hallmarked London 1895.
